Purpose:
To improve awareness of the need for volunteers in the Hockey Association. Volunteers make the program work. The purpose is not to see who earns the most points, but to get all parents involved and to run the program efficiently.
The Plan:
A family is required to earn points based on the number of children in the program, with 100 points being the maximum needed. A point value will be assigned to each position that requires volunteer work. The family will complete their volunteer work and turn in a volunteer point system sheet to their League Manager or team coordinator for each family member volunteering. They are then responsible for submitting points earned to the Point System Coordinator. The Point System Coordinator will record all points and post them periodically throughout the season to the SFYHA Website.
Atoms 20 points
Mites 30 points
Squirt & older 75 points
Maximum required points is 100 points
Penalty:
Parents who choose not to participate in volunteering their time will pay $2 per point.
Points:
The following is a list of volunteer positions and brief description of job duties. There may be additional ways to earn points than what is listed but they must be approved by the Board as such opportunities become available. This list will be kept on the SFYHA website and updated with different opportunities with the assigned points as they come up.
